Indian Visa For British Citizens

If you are planning to travel to India, you may want to consider applying for an e-Visa. These electronic visas are issued in your email inbox within two or three days. Be sure to print out your e-Visa and keep it with you while in India. In addition, you must visit a Quarantine facility before transiting into India. It is important to read the e-Visa instructions carefully.

Currently, UK nationals who wish to visit India have to apply for a paper visa at the Indian embassy. This procedure is time consuming and can cost almost as much as the trip itself. In addition, many British tourists have found that applying for a paper visa means they have to stay overnight in London. That can be costly, and some have even cancelled their plans to go to Kerala altogether.

Quarantine before transiting into India

The requirements for quarantine before transiting into India for British citizens have significantly changed in recent years. Although the requirements for quarantine have been significantly relaxed, international travelers are still required to undergo additional Covid-related checks before arriving in India. In addition to the usual passport requirements, travellers must also provide proof of Covid vaccination and submit a PCR test 72 hours before departure. British nationals can avoid travel to certain regions of India but should not go beyond their destination country.
